Honourable Secretary, Keshod Kelavani Mandal
Message from the President’s & Secretary’s Desk…..
Esteemed Greetings to the Educators, Scholars and Aspiring Minds
Keshod Kelavani Mandal operates the Nagar Panchayat Arts and Commerce College, which is an educational institution providing education to the marginalised society for the last 45 years. 45 years ago, the population of Keshod was only 20,000. Keshod, with its railway station, airport, and highway, was considered an important centre, and its vicinity was noted for trade among nearby regions. However, for girls, education was limited only up to the metric level, and they had to go to Junagadh or Rajkot for further studies.
Keshod’s long-sighted leaders, including the former head of the Taluka Panchayat, Shri Masribhai Ram, leading industrialist Shri Keshubhai Vanpariya, Municipal President Shri Kanjibhai Thumbar, and social worker and women’s education advocate Shri Hathisinhji Bapu Rayjada, initiated the establishment of Keshod Mahavidyalaya on June 15, 1971.
Initially managed by the Municipal Council of Keshod, the college’s administration was handed over to Keshod Kelavani Mandal in 1973 due to technical reasons. Serving all the surrounding Talukas including Mangrol, Maliya, Mendarda, Vanthali, Manavadar, and Madhavpur, this only college in Keshod provided education to a population of 20,000, filling an educational void in the region.
Over the past 45 years, this institution has prepared thousands of graduate students. Today, it offers postgraduate courses in M.A. and M.Com. In Keshod town, even if there were to be a single women’s college, in NPAC College, 50 % of the seats would be reserved for female students. In the neighbouring talukas, where there is one or more colleges in each area, the number of students in NPAC college is 1,741. The success is attributed to the experienced, knowledgeable, and hardworking professors.
This college serves as a beacon of hope for underprivileged and less-educated individuals, offering them access to higher education. It not only imparts academic knowledge but also nurtures social consciousness and instils noble values. Students graduating from this institution carry with them the aspiration that, in the modern era dominated by technology, they can thrive in entrepreneurial endeavours, whether at the state or national level. The college is dedicated to upholding the core principles of education and is unwavering in its commitment to educational endeavours.
With Best Wishes!
